Year of call as a solicitor 1996.
Richard is a qualified solicitor, having joined the firm in 1996. He has deliberately restricted his case load to serious injury claims. Having acted for more than 500 Claimants in major trauma cases, his expertise is recognised by the Association of Personal Injury Lawyers; Richard is a senior litigator.
ASD Solicitors assisted a labourer to obtain compensation after his left arm was trapped in a machine at work and then subsequently amputated.
The client suffered a traumatic amputation of the left arm after being asked to clean a large, cylindrical roller at his place of employment. The guards to the rollers had been deliberately disengaged. ASD represented Mr R from Sheffield, at the criminal prosecution pursued by The Health and Safety Executive, as well as proceeding with a claim for compensation. Richard Meggitt referred Mr R to a rehabilitation company namely The Injury Care Clinic. They allocated Mr R with a case worker who helped get the client’s life back together after the trauma of the accident.
Mr R was unable to return to work for his employer but, with help, did manage to secure permanent part time employment with a security company.
