ASD assisted Mr G of Sheffield who was seriously injured following an accident at work.
The client suffered a lower back injury resulting in him being absent from work for 18 months. Mr G was required to manually lift an extremely heavy lintel from the back of a wagon. The employer failed to plan or properly organise the lift.
ASD’s Serious Injury Team issued court proceedings as the insurers denied liability. The case succeeded at trial resulting in a five figure payment.
Richard Meggitt Solicitor acted for the claimant, following the hearing he said, “It is unusual for cases to go to trial, but sometimes it is the only option available if the insurers deny liability unreasonably”.
This claim was settled in October 2014.
