PRESS RELEASE
Local solicitors achieve mountain challenge
Helping the British heart foundation
A four member team organised by ASD, a firm of solicitors on Ecclesall Road, have raised more than £1,000 for the British Heart Foundation (BHF). Phil Turner, Ralph Clark, Martin Webb and Jon Walker took on the National 3 Peaks Challenge on 12 June in support of the nation’s heart charity.
Their challenge to climb Ben Nevis, Scafell Pike and Snowdon within 24 hours, was completed in only 22 hours and 45 minutes. Judy Pearson of ASD, coordinating the team’s effort from the Sheffield base, commented “This was good going as their mini bus was limited to 58 miles per hour! ASD have been raising money for the BHF for several years and each time the staff take on greater physical challenges and raise more funds for this vital cause. It’s a community effort with local companies Willmott Dixon Ltd, CLM and Ford arranging the minibus and a team of volunteer drivers supporting the climbers.”
Lauren Mallinson, Fundraising Volunteer Manager for South Yorkshire at the BHF said, “We are delighted this local company has already raised over £1,000 this year to help beat heart and circulatory disease – the nation’s biggest killer. I encourage other firms to organise team challenges in support of the BHFs work in the region. Whether companies choose a parachute jump or a sponsored walk, the team efforts of local businesses will make a real difference to the lives of people in Sheffield. BHF is already investing in pioneering research, lifesaving defibrillators and emergency life support training in the city and with more support, we can do more.”
