ASD Solicitors helped a Sheffield man to receive £295,000 in compensation following an accident at work.

Mr B fell awkwardly whilst attempting to negotiate stairs at work. The stair case had been used as a storage area. As a result of the fall the client suffered chronic pain in the lower back, making a return to work full time impossible.

The insurers did not accept liability initially and even when they did attempted to say that the client was partly to blame. Eventually after a number of years the insurers conceded liability in full.

Richard Meggitt, part of the Serious Injury Team at ASD, arranged for the client to have extensive rehabilitation to aid his recovery. This was paid for in full by the insurers. Numerous medical reports had to be obtained before it was possible to settle the claim at a Joint Settlement Meeting in which both parties attended. A formal hearing was not required
