ASD Solicitors assisted a butcher from Pontefract to recover compensation following an accident at work.
Mr C was injured when he caught his right index finger in a machine at work. It was the client’s case that guards, which should have been in place, had been removed. Liability was initially denied by the insurers for the employer who maintained Mr C was entirely to blame.
Such was the level of damage to the finger it was eventually amputated. Damages were agreed with the insurers at £22,000, which included a payment for pain and suffering, loss of earnings, and an award for Mr C being handicapped on the labour market.
Mr C was able to return to work carrying out his pre-accident job.
